If the taxes that the Republicans want to keep REALLY made a difference in the economy, then we wouldn't be in this mess, would we??  Their argument just doesn't make any sense.

I mean...  Okay, they keep saying that small business owners wouldn't hire anyone if their taxes went up.  But then that would mean that their taxes are apparently just where they want them to be right now, right? And yet... no one is getting hired.  We are still in a remarkably bad way, economically.  So... what the FUCK are Republicans saying!?!?  What I really, really, REALLY wish, is that Republicans (or ALL people who are bigoted or racist) would simply own up to it!  Just stop frontin' and OWN UP TO YOUR BIGOTED WAYS!  Why are bigots and racists and bullies SO cowardly and incapable of standing tall and proud in their bigotism and racism and bullyism? Why?

TD Jakth thed I'm creative*, tho...

I just realized I'm almost at the end of my work week. I'm taking off early on my "Friday". (I put quotes around "Friday" to signal that I do not have the traditional M-F work week.) But anyway, I have a tremendous amount of glee knowing that I'll be away from work soon. However, on the morning of the day before I go back to work, my mood will change, as I will already have begun to think about my return to work.

So, aside from my job being one of the most miserable places on the planet to be, I would have to say that, in America, one of the most miserable places to be is in the lobby of your local cable company.  You know why, and I know you agree, so I’m done with that thought.

Sometimes I think I have ADD.  I have laughed about this with a friend of mine.  We don’t stay interested in things for long.  Or… we forget things. I don’t remember which it was, and I don’t care. Next topic!

I bite my fingernails.  Not so badly that my nails look horrific, but… I bite them.  I can control the urge for a couple days; long enough to let nails grow long enough to bite again.  I don’t polish my nails.  I mean, I just said, I bite them!

Do you fight sleep?  I do. I see daytime sleep as a sign of weakness. It’s probably a sign of weakness to think that.  Sleeping at night is when we’re supposed to sleep, so to get sleepy in the day, to me, means I would look weak if I fell asleep.  I know, you are now thinking I should seek counseling. Whatever.

* Now regarding TD Jakes' claim that I am creative, he actually said we are all creative. I heard him say this on Oprah's "Super Soul Sunday". Okay, so... creative I am! Creative you are!

MORE CHANGE!! Aaargh!

Okay, so Blogger.com went and did it!  They CHANGED the way my page looks     the way my DASHBOARD looks!  Why? Why must you make changes??  But there's nothing I can do about it, right?  That's what you're saying to me -- I know you are. I KNOW you ARE! Alright, fine!  I'll move on! Whatever!

I'll make this entry like the Twitter page I don't have.  It's 3:06pm Eastern Daylight Time.  Warm, but cloudy.  I'm chewing on some barbeque barbecue chips. Mesquite. You're surprised I'm eating chips? Why? I eat crap just like everybody else! Of course, I get to say that I also did my weights routine today.  That's probably all the MORE reason I should have chosen my apple over the chips, but... wait! I know what happened! I was so emotionally distraught over the CHANGES at Blogger.com that I had to soothe myself with unhealthy foods! Did I mention I just had some Chinese food? Well, just don't tell anybody else.

Yeah...

The pain of NOT changing...

Just to follow up with the resistance I have to change... today, I was searching for some sneakers. I started my search a couple of weeks ago, but I left the stores empty-handed because I didn't like the prices, for one thing, but mostly because I'm not particularly feeling the neon color scheme going on right now. Yeah, yeah, sure, the colors ARE snazzy and all, but... I just don't want neon colors on my feet! Why is that wrong? It MUST be wrong, otherwise, you'd think I'd be able to get a ____ing pair WITHOUT the neon!! It's utterly painful for me to have my own vision in mind of what I want, and then be FORCED into CHANGING that vision! Sheer PAIN!

~BREAKING NEWS~ I found a pair. I wanted/needed Asics*. Got 'em. Right price, decent color.

*Ordinarily, I'm not a brand name buyer. But, I've had some issues with my foot - ongoing issues with my right foot (like a ridiculously extended period of plantar fasciitis) - and the podiatrist suggested Asics. I tried them (along with the cheap [$20] Walk-Fit shoe inserts) and my discomfort went away. I wanted to try a second pair of Asics to see if it's the shoe, or if it was just luck that my foot got better.

Change...

...and I don't mean the monetary kind of change, I mean the kind where something is one way, one moment; one day, and another way the next moment or the next day. I guess I would have to say that, generally speaking, I am not keen on change when it happens without my input. Like, if I am using a service, say... this blog page, and they just up and say "hey, a change is coming!" I don't like that.

It seems hardly democratic to *make* me change the way this blog page looks. I *like* this blog page and don't feel like changing it, but, in order to continue to use it, I *have* to change it at some point in the very near future. I know this because, each time I log in, there is a notice telling me so.

Anyway, it's a minor issue, Just Sayin'... I'm not happy to have to make the change. Better be some good choices from which to pick!

*Sparkle*

Not going to tell you NOT to see it. Not going to do that. However, I was not as... I wanted... The film didn't grab me as emotionally as I wanted to be grabbed.

I miss Whitney, and it was nice to see Whitney on the screen. Whitney was playing a mother, and you know what? She looked like a mother.

Let's jump to talking about Carmen Ejogo. She's THAT gifted, that I don't even recognize her when I see her. For starters, Carmen Ejogo is British. Couldn't tell it in Sparkle. And the whole time I kept asking myself, who is THIS person playing "Sister"? But I know who Carmen Ejogo is, but she's such the consummate "faceless" actress that I simply didn't realize it was she. That's a compliment!

Derek Luke... he's not Philip Michael Thomas. I wanted a Philip Michael Thomas clone, quite frankly.

Anyway, I'll edit this at another time. Just wanted to post this today, since Sparkle opened today - Friday August 17, 2012. I say GO TO THE FILM, mostly for support; in honor of the memory of Miss Whitney E. Houston.

P.S. Big ups to Debra Martin Chase, too - 'cause I love a story about Black women producers - a credit Whitney has held, as well.
